Opticians come together under a single banner

Press release

Meeting on 13 September last year for a Constitutive General Assembly, at the premises of the 'Maison de l'Optique' in Paris, the Chairmen of 'Lunetiers de Paris', Dominique Pinton, 'Oyonnax', Jean-Charles de Lemps, and 'Morez', Christian Receveur, gave the thumbs up to the new national association 'LUNETTES DE FRANCE'.

Although each of the three organisations will pursue and develop its initiatives on a regional level, they will also be able to rely on their new association to :
  • represent and defend its members' interests on a national level,
  • raise awareness of the entire French eyewear distribution network as well as promoting recognition and development of its know-how in terms of design and innovation,
  • encourage promotion of product image and trademark and patent protection,
  • mutualise initiatives conducted on a regional level.

  • Since 'LUNETTES DE FRANCE' is a member of the 'Groupement des Industries Françaises de l'Optique', the 'GIFO' [French optical industries association], this new organisation will make it possible to optimise services to companies and to reinforce links between the different components of the optical/eyewear industry.

The next SILMO exhibition will also be an opportunity to meet most of the 'LUNETTES DE FRANCE' members on their stand between 22 and 25 October next year.

Dominique Pinton will be the association's first Chairman, supported by a Delegate General, Henri Venet, current Managing Director of the 'Lunetiers du Jura'.

Numerous personalities from the world of Eyewear, including Bertrand de Limé, the Chairman of GIFO, and Guy Charlot, the Chairman of SILMO and the 'Chambre syndicale des fabricants de verres de lunettes et lunetterie' [Lens and eyewear manufacture employers' association] supported this initiative and celebrated the creation of 'LUNETTES DE FRANCE'.
